Thank you, Jen for helping stay connected in Sequim, especially those of us who are in the County. It's good to to be in the know. I'll keep an eye out for the new signs. I really didn't like the Be Kind signs.
I have never heard of City managers not posting meeting information on their website. It is routinely done in other towns and is such a simple, straightforward way to keep people informed. Not doing so promotes lack of awareness/participation and causes suspicion. We're fairly new to the area and find this attitude of no public outreach to be very disappointing.
Thank you, Laine! I didn’t link the previous article this was based off of; there was a public hearing announcement but it was only in the newspaper and not on the city website, which I agree with you that it promotes a lack of awareness not to have it on the website.
There is a lot of information on the Sequim website about meetings:
And then on the City Council page is where they have side links to meeting dates, attending a meeting, and other city council related items: https://www.sequimwa.gov/67/City-Council
I’ve signed up for all 16 email notifications from the city and I’m interested to see what they will include. I’ve been here going on 12 years and even though I live in the county, I’ve never felt any outreach from the city. With such a large population of people who relocate, I think it’s a disservice that the city doesn’t do more to proactively reach out in some way to city and county residents with a 98382 zip code to let them know how to get involved with city governance.
Tried to get on the city notification you offered, thanks. Tried to connect by google, and it just kept circling around to the sign in clicker, even when i put in my email and my password. Never could get to choose notifications. Any tips?

I didn’t like them either. Plenty of signs give orders by law; I don’t like decorative signs ordering me around too. LOL.

You might have to do the sign-up option instead of going through Google, that’s the only thing I can think of. Let me know if that works.
